She Was Waiting

Sometimes I feel, she is around,

She will call out my name in a bit.

But I have to remind myself -

She was lying here, on this very floor,

Only waiting, to exit the door.

The moment, of her stillness

Was that, of disbelief!

I tried and tried to wake her up

To make her talk to me

But she just wouldn’t listen.

She was right there,

Still as a stone

Only waiting, to be freed.

She was cold to me,

Uncannily silent since a few days,

I thought, she was upset with me

So, I tried to cheer her up again

Only to know,

She was waiting,

To be taken away.
